Our walks are suitable for experienced walkers who prefer to walk shorter distances. Walks may involve short steep ascents/descents, rough ground and stiles. These factors will be highlighted in the walk description.
Dogs are welcome but in control of the owner.
Waterproof and warm clothing and suitable walking footwear are essential. A snack and a drink are recommended.
Please be aware that walkers do so at their own risk and must complete the Health and Safety form before their first walk.
There will be one walk per month which will be on different days of the week.

Meet at map reference SO 07252737*.
Starting at Brynich lock, Brecon, a short walk along the canal over the Usk on the aqueduct and back again to walk along the Usk left bank. A beautiful walk along the river to Llanhamlach, crossing a stream which can be difficult when high, passing the natural weir and old mill before climbing up to Llanhamlach Church. Then heading north on footpaths up the hill towards Talyllyn, before turning towards Llechfaen. Then walking east along a road (approx.one km.) before climbing up to Llechfaen hamlet. Then turning down and dropping to the village of Groesffordd (there is a pub here). It is a short walk from here back down the road to the parked cars.
The walk is around 9 km. There are several stiles, along the river, the path can be very rough, the total climb is less than 200 metres, none very steep..
*Meeting point on the of the B4558 on the verge on the under-pass of A40 at Brynich Lock.
