The walks take place in open hill and mountain country, sometimes on difficult terrain and in poor weather. Walkers must be able to comfortably complete up to 10 miles and be able to negotiate styles, gates, fences, boggy and rocky surfaces safely without aid. An outline walk description will be provided prior to an arranged walk by the walk leader. Dogs are welcome but must be in control of owner. Walking poles, waterproof and warm clothing, stout walking footwear, lunch and a drink are recommended.

We agree to walk together as a group so the coordinator of each walk acts only to arrange and inform members of the proposed walking programme. This does not imply responsibility for the actions and physical ability of members on a walk or for their health and safety. No personal insurance in provided by the U3A. The walk leader reserves the right to refuse inclusion onto the walk to those without suitable waterproof and warm clothing and suitable stout footwear.

Please complete your personal details form and hand a copy to the walk leader at the start of the walk. These details will be held by the walk leader and Brecon U3A Hill Walking Group coordinator only and not shared with any outside agency.

Members are encouraged to contribute by leading a walk within the walking programme – recommendations and suggestions are welcomed by the coordinator who will inform all members prior to walk.
