The Earth Science Group at Brecon is run by David Mitchell who is a retired geology lecturer.

The sessions include all aspects of Geology, Physical Geography, Meteorology as well as human use of Earth Resources.

The last meeting (except for the field day) of the Earth Science Group during the 2024 Summer Term will take place on:

18th July at 1.15 in the Studio. This will be a preparation for the Field Day detailed below

LOCAL GEOLOGY FIELD DAY WEDNESDAY 24TH JULY

Transport will be by invidual cars shared to the maximum capacity. There is no strenuous walking. The success of the day depends on good weather and views so if the cloud is down or it it pouring with rain it would have to be cancelled at short notice (on the forecast the day before) IT WILL BE ESSENTIAL THAT ALL ATTENDING HAVE DAVID'S PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL AND HE HAS THEIRS (To be arranged at the meeting on 18th July)
