Terms and Conditions

  1. To comply with U3A Trust legal requirements, we are only allowed to take U3A members (from any branch) on our trips. The one exception is that if members require a Carer to travel with them, that person need not be a U3A member. However, in such circumstances, the Travel Desk team and Committee members need to be given their names and any other relevant information.

2. Cancellations: We regret that we cannot guarantee to refund the cost of any trip for which you have paid if the money has already been paid over, or is committed, to the relevant organization. This applies to both day trips and residential events. We hope, though, that you would make every effort to find a replacement for yourself. If necessary, the Travel Desk will give what assistance they can.

3. We need to try and cover the costs of each trip - there is no magic ‘kitty’ available to us. The cost of the trip is always calculated on a certain of number of people booking. If we fail to reach the optimum number, the trip will be cancelled before any payments are due. We are not a registered travel agency - just volunteers from our branch. As such, we cannot offer any form of holiday insurance for cancellations, etc. Those booked on residential events may wish to make enquiries elsewhere about holiday cancellation cover.
